Getting a blood pressure machine that you can use in your own home is a great step in taking control of one's well-being and health. Additionally it is a great way to keep track of your blood pressure levels day-to-day so its possible to record your measurements for yourself and for your medical professional. This will help your medical professional better manage your tablets to provide you the absolute best care. There are two kinds of blood pressure machines you can use in your own home - aneriod monitors (also referred to as manual monitors) and electronic monitors. Both of these machines vary in how you use them so here are user instructions for each machine. Aneriod Monitors 1) Aneroid monitors require that you tune in to your heartbeat with a stethoscope. So the initial step is to put the ear pieces of the stethoscope inside your ears. 2) The disk at the other end of the stethoscope has to be placed on the inside of the elbow at the fold. 3) Wrap the cuff across the upper left arm, level with the heart. 4) The cuff needs to be inflated manually with an aneriod blood pressure machine making use of the hand pump (bulb). The bulb is required to be squeezed swiftly and repetitively until the reading is greater than your previous systolic measurement by approx. 30-40 points. 5) At this moment the valve can be marginally loosened in order to let some air out from the cuff at a speed of about two to three mmps. If the cuff deflates more quickly than this the measurement isn't going to be accurate. 6) While the cuff is deflating you can start to hear your heart pumping. It is essential to pay attention to the 1st sounding of your heart beat because this is the moment that you need to take note of the number on the dial. This number is your systolic blood pressure reading. 7) As the cuff continues to deflate you will notice via the stethoscope that your heartbeat will stop. This is your second indication to obtain note of the dial examining. This result is your diastolic reading... and your done! 8) If you want to obtain a second studying it is advisable to wait at least three minutes before re-inflating the cuff. Digital Monitors 1) Place the cuff of the digital blood pressure monitor over your upper left arm and turn the machine on. 2) Depending on the model the cuff will either inflate automatically or need to be filled with air manually with a hand pump in the same way an aneriod instrument needs to be filled with air. 3) The cuff will begin to deflate slowly and automatically for all digital monitors at which point you can take the checking from the digital monitor. 4) You are now finished so you can press a button on the machine that will let all the air out of the cuff.
